The rosary will take place on December 12th at 7:00 pm at San Jose Funeral Home-East from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm at 10950 Pellicano Drive, 79935, (915) 590-8700. The mass will take place on December 13th at Socorro Mission Church from 11:00 am to 12:00 pm at 328 S Nevarez Rd. Her burial will take place on December 13th at Mt. Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza Rd, 79907 at 12:30 pm.



Petra Acosta, 98, passed away peacefully on December 6th, 2024 at her home. She was the widower of Jose Trinidad Acosta. They shared over 60 years of marriage together.

Born on October 29, 1926 in Durango, Mexico. She was the daughter of Maria De Los Angeles Verdin and Federico Betancourt. She was the mother of 8 children. Petra was the rock of the family who provided strength, guidance and love to her family and those around her.

Petra enjoyed visiting restaurants where she was well-known, received, and loved. She was the person individuals turned to in times of crisis and would provide assistance and comfort. She was a devout Catholic who religiously prayed to the La Virgen De Guadalupe. Her presence brought happiness upon any room she entered. She will forever be in our hearts and will be greatly missed. Her legacy of courage, compassion, and cheer will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is preceded in death by her Husband Jose Trinidad Acosta, Daughter Esperanza Acosta De Marquez, and Daughter Carmen Acosta. She is survived by her children Gabriela Acosta de Calleros, Thomasa Acosta, Enrique Acosta, Innocente Acosta, Ernestina Varela, and Leticia Acosta, grandchildren Martha, Cecilia, Arturo, Juanita, Maria de Jesus, Ruben, Normalidia, Irma, Patricia, Armando, Ricardo, Javier, Cesar, Fernando, Enrique, Edgar, Petra Leticia, Alfredo, Jorge, Omar, Laura, Osvaldo, Ernesto Jr, Debbie, Michelle, Alexandro, Raymundo Jr., Alyssa and Alondra, great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, and great-great-great-grandchildren. Her lineage of life reached the sixth generation.

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
