Mary Ellen Gomez, age 82, of El Paso, Texas, passed away suddenly on April 13, 2025. She was born on April 29, 1942, in Ysleta, Texas, to Bill and Lorraine West. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary Ellen’s love for her family and unwavering faith were the cornerstones of her life.

She is survived by her loving husband of 64 years, Pedro Gomez Jr., and their four children: Elizabeth (Robert), Linda, Theresa (Bryan), and Pedro III (Cecilia). Mary Ellen was blessed with 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought her immense joy. Her legacy of kindness, love, and strength will live on through her family.

Mary Ellen was preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lorraine West, her brother Lonny West, and her beloved son Michael Andrew Gomez.

The family is deeply saddened by her passing and will cherish the memories of her warmth, wisdom, and the many lives she touched.

Visitation will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM with a Rosary at 11:30 AM, Monday, April 21, 2025 at San Jose Funeral Homes - East, 10950 Pellicano. Funeral Mass will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, April 21, 2025 at St Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church, 12200 Vista Del Sol. Graveside Service will follow at 2:30 PM at Mt Carmel Cemetery, 401 S Zaragoza.
