Hortensia G. Doblado entered into heaven on December 8, 2024 at the age of 92. She shared her birthday with Jesus which she always boasted about. She was born in El Paso, TX on December 25, 1931 to her loving parents Domingo Guerrero and Maria Salazar. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Henry Doblado, whom she enjoyed a magnificent life with for over 67 years. She, along with her older sister, Nellie G. Ferro, who predeceased her by one week, together raised their loving siblings after being orphaned at an early age. She is survived by her siblings Delia Navarro, Goldie Franco and Mary Jimenez and was predeceased by her siblings Nellie G. Ferro, Mercy Carrasco, and Albert Guerrero. She is also survived by her loving children Mike (Becky), Mitchel (Yvonne) and Diane (Sergio); Grandchildren Rebecca Marie Doblado, Christopher Doblado, Ryan Doblado, Mitchel Doblado, Derrick Franco, Dominic Franco, step-grandchildren Justin Hathaway and Rebecca Hathaway; Great-grandchildren, Phoenix Wilson-Doblado, Rowan Doblado, Setti Doblado, Pierce Doblado, Isaac Doblado, Julian Doblado, Lyla Rose Franco and step great-grandchild AJ Hathaway. Mrs. Doblado was the Store Manager for Lerner Shop’s for over 25 years. Unable to pursue a formal high school or college education, she worked hard and persevered to a successful career. As the store manager, she was a huge advocate in support of her employees’ education, flexible with their schedules and always being very supportive of their path to higher education. She, along with her sister Nellie Ferro, had to quit high school to take care of their 5 younger siblings ranging from age 7-17. They kept all the siblings together and raised them so that they would not be separated. She married Henry in 1956 and they started their married life in Anchorage, AK where their two sons Michael and Mitchel were born. In 1959, she missed her sisters so much that they moved back to El Paso where their daughter Diane was born and then made El Paso their forever home. She was very involved with LULAC where she served as President for many years. For many, many years, she was a huge contributor and supporter of the nuns at the Sisters of Perpetual Adoration. She always proclaimed that her unwavering faith was bestowed to her from her parents, which she lovingly passed on to her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was adored for the love she always had for others and was fortunate to be loved by many amazing nieces and nephews. Rosary Services will be held on Tuesday, December, 17, 2024 at 6:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home East, 10950 Pellicano Dr., El Paso, Texas, 79936, Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2024 at 8:30 a.m. at the Monasterio de Cristo Rey (Sisters of Perpetual Adoration), 145 N. Cotton St., El Paso, TX, 79901 followed with interment for a Graveside Service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 10:00 a.m. The family is forever indebted to Gentiva Hospice, their amazing nurses and staff, Caregiver Rocio Ruiz and Amada Senior Care and their caregiver, Karla-Karina Ramos.
