A rosary will be held in Mary's honor at San Jose Funeral Home East, Chapel A on July 24, 2024 at 7:00 PM. A Mass will be celebrated at Corpus Christi Catholic Church on July 25, 2024 at 1:00 PM, followed by the funeral service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery. Friends and family are invited and encouraged to join in honoring her memory.
It is with great sadness and broken hearts that we, The Rey Family, announce the passing of our beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, Mary E. Rey. Mary was born in El Paso, TX on December 13, 1948, and passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on July 19, 2024. Mary lived a full and loving life, touching the hearts of many with her love, warmth, kindness, and unwavering support for her family and friends. She was deeply loved by many, as she had a unique gift of making everyone who met her feel they were part of her family.
Mary was known for her hardworking nature, strength, delicious cooking and sweet tea, and her infectious sense of humor, which brought joy to the lives of those around her. Her ability to find humor in any situation endeared her to all who knew her. She was incredibly empathetic and compassionate, always ready to listen and provide comfort to those in need.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 51 years, Marcelo Rey Jr., her beloved daughter Cynthia Diann Rey, and her cherished sons Marcelo Rey III, Rene Jesus Rey and his spouse Karla Sanchez Rey, and Daniel Rey. Mary was a proud grandmother to 10 adored grandchildren and a delighted great-grandmother to one great-grandson, who will all carry forward her legacy of love and compassion.
Mary is preceded in death by her father, Roberto Enriquez, her mother, Octaviana Diaz-Enriquez and nine siblings.
