Maria Lobato Amaya
December 29, 1966 – February 22, 2025
"With profound love, we announce the passing of Maria Lobato Amaya, who gained her angel wings on February 22, 2025, in El Paso, Texas, at the age of 58.
Born on December 29, 1966, in Pueblo, Colorado, to Jose A. Lobato and Helena M. Lobato, Maria was a woman of remarkable resilience, warmth, and generosity. Although she made El Paso her home, her childhood was filled with adventure, traveling to numerous places due to her father’s military and government service. She excelled academically and athletically, showcasing exceptional talent in writing, swimming, and rollerblading.
Maria had a heart that knew no bounds. Her meticulous nature and unwavering compassion shaped the way she cared for others, always standing up for those in need, no matter the circumstance. She dedicated much of her career to hospitality, where her kindness and empathy left lasting impressions on everyone she met. Beyond work, her greatest joys came from spending time with loved ones, especially her grandson, Sunny, whose presence brought her the brightest smiles.
A woman of immense strength, Maria faced life’s challenges with courage and grace. Even in the midst of her battle with cancer, she remained a source of comfort and laughter for those around her, sharing heartfelt conversations and imparting wisdom that will live on forever. Her final weeks were filled with beauty and peace, as she helped her children embrace the importance of love, joy, and serenity in life.
Maria is survived by her loving children, Adam and Skylar, her cherished grandson, Sunny, and a host of family and friends who will forever hold her in their hearts. She is reunited in heaven with her beloved parents and many dear loved ones, including the pets she adored.
We extend our deepest gratitude to those who stood by Maria’s side in her final days, as well as to the compassionate staff at El Paso Hospice. In lieu of flowers, donations in her honor may be made to organizations supporting animals or veterans, causes that were close to her heart.
Though Maria will be dearly missed, her love, strength, and spirit will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. We will honor her by celebrating her life and embracing the happiness she wished for us all.
Maria, you will live forever in our hearts and memories."
