Jose Barragan

Born December 2, 1945, and passed away suddenly on December 4, 2024, after celebrating his 79th birthday.

Joe was a gentle giant of a man who wore many hats throughout his life. Born in Fabens, TX to parents Tomas and Maria Barragan. He is survived by his wife, Lucila Barragan whom he met in 1967 at Star Disco Records. They have 4 beautiful children

Teresa Barragan, Kristine Manzano, Joe Barragan Jr. and last but least Danielle Barragan.

He was a beloved grandfather to Brandon, Jennifer, Christopher, Serena, Audrey, Andrew, Amanda and Emery. He was Grandpa-Grandpa to his great-granddaughter, Maddie.

Some of the many hats throughout his life included being a true “Go Wildcats” Alumni, recording artist at Star Disco Recording, where he produced custom made recordings to 4 and 8 track tapes. He worked at Franklin Optical and also started a softball team “Spirit of ‘76”. This led him to become an umpire at various parks and at The Sportsplex. He worked at El Paso County Courthouse for over 30 years as a Baliff.

After his retirement, he dedicated his life to the service of the Lord at Sacred Heart Church. He will truly be missed by his family and friends as he was a gentle, funny and grumpy man.

May he rest in peace.

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
