Edelmira Lozano Munoz, 82, of El Paso passed away Sunday, December 22, 2024 at Providence Hospital. She was born on November 11, 1942 in the town of Jalpa, Zacatecas, Mexico, grew up in the town of Guadalajara and was always proud of her heritage and birthplace. Her family moved to the United States when she was a teen and put down roots in El Paso in search of more fruitful opportunities. This pursuit of a better life included her husband, Juan, who she married on July 17, 1966. She was a devoted wife in this loving partnership of 58 years. 

Alway up for an adventure, sporting her signature red lipstick, she enjoyed traveling, discovering new experiences, window shopping and taking in the sights. Family was very important to her. She made sure her 5 children were exposed to all that life could offer and that they had opportunities she never had growing up. In her later years she especially loved and delighted in spending time with her grandchildren, this gave her a new lease on life. She reached all of life’s milestones together with her family and was very proud of all their accomplishments.

Beloved wife and mother, preceded in death by her two sons, Edwardo and Guillermo. She is survived by her husband, Juan Munoz, son, Adrian Munoz, son & daughter-in-law, Victor & Janice Munoz, daughter and son-in-law, Lynda & Adrian Najera, and grandchildren, Sophia, Alejandro & Nicholas Najera. 

Visitation will be held Sunday January 5 from 3p - 7p at San Jose Funeral Home East 109450 Pelican Dr., El Paso TX 79935 with a Rosary at 6p.

Funeral Service will be held Monday July 6 at 9:30a at Iglesia de Nuestra Señora de Guadalupe 2709 Alabama Ave., El Paso TX 79930. 

Interment will be after the funeral service at 11a at Fort Bliss National Cemetery 5200 Fred Wilson Ave., El Paso TX 79906
