Obituary

Salvador Baquera, known to most as Sal or Chava, entered eternal rest on Friday, May 17
th, 2024, after a long battle with complications from Parkinson’s disease.

Sal and Rose Helen met in 1970 while working at El Paso Natural Gas together. After dating for a mere two weeks, Sal proposed, and they were blissfully married the following year.
They were blessed with three children: Michelle Denise Bocanegra (Joe), Michael Scott Baquera, and Alexandra Rose Baquera-Munoz (Miguel). Their grandchildren: Abigail Rose Padilla, Ariel Celeste Alvarez (Oscar), Mercedez Azul Chavez, Yakov Menachem Esparza, Amrit Rina Esparza, and one great-grandchild, Rebecca Alvarez.

Sal and Rose’s favorite song, “Contigo Aprendi”, beautifully encapsulates the love they shared throughout their 53 years of marriage.
“Aprendí…que puede un beso ser más dulce y más profundo

Que puedo irme mañana mismo de este mundo;

Las cosas buenas ya contigo las viví

Y contigo aprendí

Que yo nací el día en que te conocí”

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
