Our Beloved Maria Christina left us on December 14, 2023, to be with our heavenly father this day. She was surrounded by family, Apa(Leo), her two sons Jacob and Nick, and her husband Mike, as she passed. She is survived by her father: Leo Pineda, her two siblings Pedro Pineda from Las Cruces New Mexico, and Angelica Maria Pineda from Austin TX, her two sons: Jacob and Nickolas Navarro and her Husband Mike Iglecias.
Christina was such a character all her life she was her own person, and it showed. Growing up with her and our many cousins, her girly side showed bright while playing girl talk with Gina Ramirez or Melissa Pineda, she would close the door and say no boys allowed or Angelica! Ha-ha. With her boy cousins she was playful. Later in life she would always talk about how cousins Michael and Gabriel and her brother Pete took her Miss Piggy Tricycle for a joyride and broke it. Ha-ha she never forgot. Our cousins Eric Cervantes shared a memory, of Stefan, Christina, Angelica(me), and myself having mini coronas in Juarez, uh Shirley we were of age(in Mexico). And then the memoires of growing up with her siblings Pedro and Angelica, the house sounded with music of Depeche Mode, Erasure, the Sugarcubes, NWA, NKOTB, that’s New Kids On The Block, btw. We had a great life together growing up with our Late Mother Anna, her dancing, warmth and strength would shine ever day. And also with our father, he stood by our family especially Christina and her boys, without a doubt, in and day out.
Christina made many friendships throughout her life. She had a way with humor and making people laugh by sharing stories, funny videos, or dancing. During her high school years, mom would pick her up from school in the Van, loaded in her friends, Mike Yrrobali, Marcy Mendoza, to name a few, and Chrisitina would tell stores and jokes as mom dropped them off, one by one. Later in life she always kept touch with Andrea Aguirre and Stacy Luera, they would meet at dads house and tell stories, about life and their children. She had a big heart, and it show, so many of her friends reached out upon hearing about her death. And the family is thankful for her abundance of friends and their support. Her life was short lived, she suffered in her last years, and is finally at rest with her Lord And Savior.
