Sylvia was born in Mexico and came to El Paso, Texas as a young girl. She was a faithful Catholic, a proud Texan, and a fiercely patriotic American.
She was predeceased in death by her parents, Trinidad Duran and Catalina Martinez, her brother, Mario Duran; her mother-in-law Deborah A. Reedy; an aunt, Ignacia “Tencha” Lopez; as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Surviving is her loving husband, Kenneth Shawn Reedy; her daughter, Izet Esmaralda Rodriguez; her grandchildren Trinity Legrande, Lester Valmond Jr., Mario Valmond, and Serenity Rodriguez Epps; great grandchildren Na’ Jour Neal, Santiago Campos Valmond, Nehemiah Barringer, and Dakotah Purnell; father-in-law Kenneth W. Sylvia enjoyed many hobbies, but more than anything she enjoyed being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Sylvia had a kind, generous, and loving spirit; she also had an indomitable will and would fiercely defend the defenseless. She enriched the lives of everyone she met, and she will be greatly missed.
Visitation is planned for Wednesday October 2nd at Forbis and Dick Funeral Service Pleasant Garden Chapel 6-8 pm and a funeral mass Thursday October 3rd at Our Lady of Grace Catholic Church in Greensboro. Sylvia will be interred in El Paso, Texas.
The family would like to thank all the medical professionals who took care of Sylvia especially Dr. Jyothi Mann and Dr. Patrick Hung, as well as the compassionate caregivers at Gentiva Hospice.

Sobrevive su amado esposo, Kenneth Shawn Reedy; su hija, Izet Esmaralda Rodríguez; sus nietos Trinity Legrande, Lester Valmond Jr., Mario Valmond y Serenity Rodriguez Epps; bisnietos Na' Jour Neal, Santiago Campos Valmond, Nehemiah Barringer y Dakotah Purnell; suegro Kenneth W. Reedy (Louise); cuñada, Kelly Robertson (Barry); ahijados Arturo Álvarez Jr., Eric Rascón y Rosa Montañez; numerosas tías, tíos, sobrinas, sobrinos, primos y amigos cercanos.

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
