ISYS LEILANI BLACKWELDER

Isys Leilani Blackwelder, 19, of El Paso, Texas passed away on February 6, 2024. She was born in El Paso on July 3, 2004. She was the daughter of Melinda and Travis Blackwelder.

Isys has been described as an empath, a bright light, a wise soul, a smart ass, cynical, sarcastic, beautiful, amazing, intelligent, compassionate, daughter, sister, friend, granddaughter and piece of our souls.

She has affected so many in her short life. Everywhere she went. Even when she didn’t know that she did. She has brought people together, loved and been loved by so many.

Her challenges with autism, depression and bullying took a toll on her. She was not emotionally equipped to live in this world. She was not equipped to take on the pain of others as she so often did. She was a square peg trying to fit into a round hole of expectations of her. No matter how much we loved her, she was tired and in pain.

She is survived by her mother, Melinda Blackwelder, father, Travis Blackwelder, brothers, Isaac, Isaiah and Wesley, sister Aniya, and grandparents, Joy, Bernard, Joann, Tim and Sammy, dogs, Bella, Xena, Diesel and Koda and several cousins, extended family and Army family.

In honor of Isys’ short but full life, reach out to someone who needs help. As Isys always said, “You can’t help everybody but, everybody can help somebody.”

In Loving Memory of our Beloved Delia Montes Delia Montes, age 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones. A devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she is survived by her four sons, eleven grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. Delia was the heart of her family—a quiet force of love and loyalty. She was a beautiful mix of strength and softness—stern when needed, but always leading with unconditional love. Her presence was steady, her heart vast, and her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
