George Richard Hungate, a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corps, passed away on June 29, 2024, to join our Lord and Savior.
He was the son of Edgar Lee Hungate and Ruby Flossie Hindahl, where he grew up in Little Rock, Illinois. He was born in Washington, Iowa on May 30, 1948, and was raised along side his sister and three brothers.
At the age of 17, George Hungate, enlisted in the Marine Corps. He valued this service highly and executed his duty in the Vietnam War. He continued his devotion to public service as a decorated employee within the federal law enforcement community. George was an avid outdoorsman, hunter, provider, friend, son and brother. But above all, he was an amazing husband, dad and Opa to his family.
George R. Hungate is survived by his sister Charlene Adams, beloved wife, Ruby Hungate, his daughter, Ernestina Alva, daughter’s spouse Isaias Alva, grandchildren, Julian Alva, Maxwell Pacheco, Mikayla Pacheco and Mia Pacheco. His never-ending love, devotion and commitment to his family will never be forgotten.
