Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather Salvador Bretado, Jr., 62, passed away peacefully on December 21, 2022 in his home surrounded by his loving family. Sal would not have wanted it any other way and made sure to hang on until his loved ones could say goodbye. He never had to be heavy-handed nor stern to his three boys to show what it is to be a man, but led by an example of kindness and empathy instead.
He loved making his grandchildren, Lucas and Sofia, laugh with silly expressions, enjoying the company of his family, and watching his favorite sports teams – the Lakers, Dodgers and Rams. He also loved watching western movies, tinkering with technology and gadgets, playing grill master on the weekends, and sharing his love of all those things with a warm conversation over a perfectly brewed cup of coffee or cold Bud Light.
He is survived by his wife Dolores, sons Adrian (Deanna), Eric, Nicholas, and grandchildren Lucas and Sofia. He will also be remembered and greatly missed by his entire family including his siblings, nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation for Salvador Bretado Jr., will be held on Thursday, December 29, 2022 from 4pm to 8pm at San Jose Funeral Home East, with a Rosary at 7pm. Funeral mass will be held on Friday, December 30, 2022 at St. Mark Catholic Church at 11:30 am.
