On Monday, January 16, 2023, Ruben Carrillo, a devoted man of faith and a husband, father, grandfather & great grandfather passed away at the age of 89. Ruben was born on October 16, 1933, in Valentine, TX, to Esteban and Agustina Carrillo. He served his country during the Korean War and lived his life providing for his family. He married Lydia Reyna Carrillo and raised five children – Nelda Carrillo Valerio, Ruben Carrillo Jr., Mario Carrillo, Sergio Carrillo, and Javier Carrillo. He loved sharing the gospel with others and fellowshipping with his brother in Christ – Angel Valerio for years. Ruben was preceded by his wife, Lydia Carrillo, and his siblings, Bobby Carrillo, Alicia Carrillo Naterra, and Arturo Carrillo. He is survived by 5 children, his brother Leo Carrillo, and 12 grandchildren – Melissa O’Quinn, Brian O’Quinn, Joshua Valerio, Brianna Valerio, Irene Carrillo, Cynthia Carrillo, Eric Carrillo, Lydia Carrillo Pelt, Orlando Carrillo, April Carrillo, Samuel Carrillo, and Bessie Elidia Carrillo and 8 great grandchildren – Shannon O’Quinn, Savannah O’Quinn, Sienna O’Quinn, Logan O’Quinn, Alannah O’Quinn Perez, Ruben Jesus Carrillo, Michael Thomas Fletcher, and Josiah Pelt. Visitation will be Monday, January 23 from 4-8pm with a prayer service at 7pm at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 10950 Pellicano Drive, 79935.   There will be a brief service before procession to Fort Bliss Cemetery at San Jose Funeral Home-East Tuesday, January 24th at 8:00am. Interment to follow at Fort Bliss Cemetery at 9:00 a.m.
