Roberto Espinoza Jr., 62, passed away December 12, 2018 at his childhood home, surrounded by family and friends. He will be greatly missed by Susana Espinoza, whom he shared 42 years of experiences and memories with, his children, Sonia Himelspach, Roberto A. Espinoza, and Gabriel Espinoza, their spouses, Jeff Himelspach, Stephanie Nebhan, and Liliana Young, his grandchildren, Nathanael Himelspach, Fredric Himelspach, Harrison Espinoza-Nebhan, and Baby Espinoza-Nebhan, his sisters, Angela Zahid, Sandra Herrera, Martha Betenia, nieces and nephews.
Roberto was born on April 8, 1956 in El Paso, TX. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1974 and immediately enlisted into the Marines. He later married and provided for his family as an OTR driver. He became a businessman, bought his first truck in 1988, and opened S&R Transport on Lee Blvd. in 1993. As he prospered, so did everyone around him. He purchased a motorcycle and a Winnebago to travel the country with his family and friends. He was passionate about music and attended many concerts. He overcame difficulties in business and health and after his retirement from the trucking industry, he cared for his mother and brother while helping his son build Pot Au Feu Int’l Restaurant. He loved working with his hands and was a builder, plumber, welder, carpenter and mechanic. His will to live and generosity to others was incredible.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Roberto Espinoza Sr. and Maria R. Espinoza, brothers Guillermo Espinoza and Isidro Espinoza, brothers-in-law Syed Zahid and Aurelio Herrera.
Visitation will be Thursday, December 20, 2018 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM with recitation of the rosary at 7:00 PM at St. Paul Catholic Church. Funeral Mass will be Friday, December 21, 2018 at 9:00 AM at St. Paul Catholic Church.
