Pedro Ramon Lopez, Jr passed away November 25, 2019 at the age of 76.

Born March 24, 1943 in El Paso,Texas, son of Pedro Ramon Lopez, Sr and Eva Ramirez.
Pedro was hardly refer to by his name. He had many names over the years such as Ray, Ramon, Monchies, Guy, Chubby and many more. Ray grew up mainly in Segundo Barrio with his grandmother and also lived in Souther California. He graduated from Bowie High School (La Bowie) in 1961 as class president and went on to attend school at the University of Texas at El Paso. In 1962 he met the love of his life, Rosa Vitela, and finally married her in 1973 on a Monday at 5pm expecting a small crowd and having the church over capacity. Seven years later after traveling and also doing missionary work with Roger Bacon Seminary, their first child was born Randy Jude Lopez and 3 years later their daughter Roselle Judeth came along for the ride.

Ray started his ministry a few years after the birth of their daughter. Ray was very involved with philanthropies such as Sertoma, LULAC, and Knights of Columbus. His ministry was to the sick and dying as well as funeral services for the El Paso Catholic Diocese. Ray also help out quite a bit with local charities such as The Rescue Mission of El Paso, The Opportunity Center, and the Annuciation House just to name a few.
As time went on, Ray was involved with his children’s athletic teams, often traveling with them for football, volleyball but mainly track and field. Starting in middle school with giving his son’s football team a simple blessing before games, it evolved into giving the blessing for his son’s high team, as well as The Senior West All Star teams and eventually ending up for several more years at Austin High School for their football teams. Ray also gave the Blessing at All Sports Banquet for 17 years.
Ray would make friends everywhere he went, often times cracking jokes and making people laugh and feel great. Whether it was doing his ministry, eating at Church’s Chicken or getting tires at Discount Tires, Ray could interact positively with anybody. He impacted people’s lives with his charisma, love and spread of God’s word.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years Rosa, 2 kids, Randy Jude and Roselle Judeth.

Pallbearers are Randy Jude Lopez, Esteban Campa, Joseph Messinger, Vincent Hernandez, Joseph Spencer, and Ruben Barron.
