Paula Renai Steed, 48, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2022 in El Paso, Texas. She was born February 2, 1974 in Hattiesburg, Mississippi. She grew up in El Paso and graduated from JM Hanks High School in 1992. Paula loved her family and friends passionately. She was fierce in the nurture, protection, and support of her children and was Mason’s beloved “Glamma” (grandma). Her love for her family knew no bound. Paula was effervescent-she lit up any room she entered! She was incredibly creative and shared that talent, with family and friends, in the form of delicious cheesecakes and charcuterie boards, decorative wreaths, and a variety of crafts. She loved Betty Boop and the Dallas Cowboys. Paula loved all children. She was a daycare teacher at Tiny Tikes Daycare and Learning Center. Children loved and were naturally drawn to her. She was affectionately known in circles as “the baby whisperer”. Between 2017-2021, Paula was recognized for her work as a compassionate and inspiring mentor with outstanding loyalty and service to the Tiny Tikes community. Paula leaves behind a grateful family with many beautiful and cherished memories but they know: “Goodbyes are not forever, they are not the end. They simply mean I’ll miss you, until we meet again” Paula is survived by her son Devin Compton (27), daughters Kyra Compton (25), and Amira Elliott (11), grandson, Mason Compton (7). Mother Beverly Steed, sister, Kimberly (Rodney) Page, and nephews Jayden Page (18) and Bryson Page (9). She is also survived by aunts, cousins, and close friends. Visitation is Monday, November 7th from 10:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. with service at 12:30 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home -East, 10950 Pellicano Drive., El Paso, Texas 79935 (915) 590-8700.
