Our beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother Maria Josefina Sotelo, 83, of El Paso, TX passed away on January 22, 2021 to be with our Heavenly Father. She was born on May 22, 1937 in Mexico.
She is preceded in death by her husband Armando G. Sotelo. She is survived by her children Lena Gunter (David), Angel Sotelo (Sylvia), Teresa Ponzio (Ronald), Martha Salas (Hector), Cecilia De La Cruz (Joe), Patricia Duarte (Joe), and Armando J Sotelo (Emily) and her 21 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Our Mother Josefina was one of a kind and accomplished so much in her life, when she married our Dad Armando and inherited 5 children, ages 2 years old through 11 years old. She had a 12-year-old daughter of her own and had a son with our Dad, whom she adored. She loved us all the same. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother & great grandmother and always wanted to feed us when we visited. She loved to cook and read her Bible scriptures, when she wasn’t helping us raise our children. She was always there for us when we needed her the most. She took care of our Dad, until the very end and we appreciated all she did for him & all her children & grandchildren. We will never forget!
We feel honored and privileged to have been her children. You always loved us unconditionally and were the best mother anyone could wish for. She was loved deeply and will be greatly missed. Thank you, Mom, for raising us! We love you Mom & you will be in our hearts forever!
Visitation will be held on Friday, February 12, 2021, from 10:00 AM to 1:30 PM. Recitation of the Rosary at 12:30 pm. Burial Service at Ft Bliss National Cemetery will be private due to Covid-19 restrictions. Funeral arrangements entrusted to San Jose Funeral Home East, 10950 Pellicano St., El Paso, TX 79935.
