Maria Magdalena Dominguez, known lovingly as Maggie, peacefully passed away Wednesday, August 31st, 2022, surrounded by the people she loved most at age 84.
Maggie was born on September 22nd, 1937, to Mr. and Mrs. Pompeyo C. Lopez. She was raised in a loving, Catholic household in the community of Ysleta with her eight siblings who she sincerely cherished. Maggie graduated from Ysleta High School in 1956 and went on to work at the El Paso Water Department for many years.
In 1957, she met and fell in love with her husband, Frank Dominguez, and they were married at age 20 and 25 in August of 1959. Together, they had three remarkable children whom she devoted her life to: Frank Dominguez Jr., Patrick Dominguez, and Francine Dominguez-Hendrix.
Maggie was a fervent and generous mother, grandmother, aunt, daughter, and sister who consistently prioritized her family above all. In 1960, she helped her husband start their family business, Dominguez Sheet Metal Works, Inc., where she was treasurer and secretary. She was a faithful member of the Catholic Church and never missed a weekend mass even when it was through a screen. Maggie had a very competitive spirit as she played softball abundantly from high school all the way into her 50s. She skied in the winters, golfed on occasion, and was always up to play any and every card game. She loved watching football too as she was a passionate New York Giants fan through and through.
Maggie is survived by her husband of 63 years, Frank Dominguez, her children: Patrick Dominguez and Francine Dominguez Hendrix (Ron Hendrix), two of her siblings: Enrique A. Lopez and Jose L. Lopez, and all her grandchildren: Justin P. Dominguez, Joshua C. Dominguez, Lauren M. Dominguez, Hannah E. Dominguez, Madelyn A. Hendrix, and Abby R. Dominguez. She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Pompeyo C. Lopez, five of her siblings Basiliza Jacquez, Esther Juarez, Aurora Navarro, Manuel Pompeyo Lopez, Carlos Lopez, Henry Lopez, and her eldest son Frank Dominguez Jr. Her memory will live on in the hearts and minds of everyone she encountered, especially the family and friends that admired her profusely.
