Louis D. Gonzalez, age 87, passed away on September 9, 2020 as well as his wife, Yolanda Gonzalez, age 83, on July 30, 2020, and his son, Luis A. Gonzalez, age 53, on August 3, 2020. Yolanda, Luis, and Louis were born and raised in El Paso, Texas. Yolanda was laid to rest at Fort Bliss National Cemetery on August 5, 2020. Luis was laid to rest at Evergreen East Cemetery on August 8, 2020. Louis will be laid to rest at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Yolanda on September 17, 2020.

Louis was a supportive and loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was always happy to provide and care for his family in any way that he could. He loved to be outside, talk to his children and grandchildren, watch television, read, cook, and of course eat food. Luis was a very faithful and devoted parishioner to St. Raphael Catholic Church and St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church. 

Yolanda embodied what it meant to be loving and faithful. She was readily available to talk, listen, encourage, support, and love all her family and friends. She especially loved talking to her children and grandchildren, doing puzzles of all kinds, and helping anyone in any way she could. She was also a devoted parishioner to St. Raphael Catholic Church and St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church. 

Louie was a gentle and kind soul that took great pride in being a loving uncle. He never hesitated to show his support for any of his family or friends and was always able to pick people up with a joke or two. He loved the Dallas Cowboys and all things sports, watching movies, gardening, and spending time with his family. Louie was also a devoted parishioner to both St. Raphael Catholic Church and St. Stephen Deacon and Martyr Catholic Church. 

“Louis leaves behind his two brothers, Carlos Gonzalez and Teddy (Mary) Madrid, two daughters Dodie (Louie) Jacquez and Diana Gonzalez, his three grandchildren Zach, Tyler, and Kyle Jacquez, great grandchild due in November, Daniela, and various nieces and nephews.

Yolanda is survived by her daughters Dodie (Louie) Jacquez and Diana Gonzalez. Three grandsons Zach, Tyler and Kyle Jacquez and great grandchild due in November, Daniela.

Yolanda’s siblings Sunny Artalejo, Leo Artalejo and Maria (Mike) Ludeman as well as many nieces and nephews.

Louie is survived by his sisters Dodie (Louie) and Diana Gonzalez, Three nephews Zach, Tyler and Kyle Jacquez and a great niece due in November Daniela Jacquez.”

Visitation will be on Thursday, September 17, 2020 from 8:30 a.m. to 10.30 a.m. with recitation of the rosary at 9:30 a.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East. Internment will follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors at 11:00 a.m. Due to cemetery restrictions at this time only ten people will be allowed to attend.
