Lori Lynn Vugteveen 65, passed away July 21, 2022. She went to be with our Lord after a fight with congestive heart failure, Lori was born December 16, 1956 and lived in El Paso, Texas. A 1974 graduate of Eastwood High School, also graduated from International Business College. She worked in the field of accounting with Texas National Bank, Petro Stopping Centers, International Garment Processors, and Carpets West.
Diabetic Neuropathy disabled Lori over the years. Learning to adapt to a new way of life in a wheelchair led her to advocate for others facing similar disabilities. She was on the City of El Paso Accessibility Advisory Committee. She also consulted with Sun Metro Transit Authority regarding concerns and requests of mobility passengers, Her voice was one of several whose input helped create improvements and safety to ease mobility challenges for people with disabilities. Lori is preceded in death by her parents Rodney and Dorothy “Dottie” Vugteveen and brother Rodney “Chip” Vugteveen. She is survived by her sisters Deborah “Debbie” Leh (Stewart-passed), Gwen Olivares (Jaime), and nephew Shawn Hartney (Dorothy) and nieces Heather Harrison, Amber Harrison,
and Haley Rinker {Caleb} and great nephews and niece.

A memorial service will be held Monday Sept 12, 2022 at St. Luke United Methodist Church, 9915 Montwood Dr., El Paso, TX 79925 at 1:30pm, Her ashes will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in El Paso, Texas at a later date.

In lieu of flowers the family requests to honor Lori”s memory with acts of kindness or donations to Church, Animal Rescues, or organizations who assist those living with disabilities. Lori loved God and proudly operated the sound system for Spirit Life Christian Center”s music ministry.. She loved animals, movies, and music. Forever praise and worship in Heaven our dear sister Lori Vugteveen.
