Lelia P. Arriaga, age 81, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children and husband on May 6, 2021. She was born on May 16, 1939 in La Union, New Mexico to Inez and Panfilo Perez who proceeded her in death. Also proceeded in death by her brother Armando Perez and sister Delia Licon.
Lelia loved all people. She was a great friend, an amazing mother, a devoted wife and a doting grandma and great grandma.
She worked most of her life at Bowie High School where she touched the lives of many students and inspired them to be great!
Her life was a living example of one of her favorite Bible Verses, Ephesians 4:33- “ And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ.”
Lelia is survived by Her high school sweetheart/Husband Arturo Arriaga, her four children: Estella Padilla( Daniel Padilla), Arturo Fernando Arriaga ( Martina Arriaga), Daniel Arriaga( Kathleen Chacon) and Sylvia Monzon ( Rodolfo Monzon). Her five grandkids: Eileen Padilla, Fernando Jr. Arriaga, Mark Arriaga, Gabriel Monzon and Michael Monzon. Her two great grandchildren Logan Arriaga and Lailani Arriaga and her brother Alfredo Perez. She loved them all and they cherished every moment that they had with her. She was our Lily!
Please join us in celebrating her life … Services will be held at San Jose Funeral Home on Pellicano on May17, 2021 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. with recitation of the rosary at 11:00 a.m. Funeral mass May 17, 2021 at12:30 p.m. at St. Frances Xavier Cabrini Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Fort Bliss National Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mother Cabrini Church in her honor.
