Juan de Dios Casillas, age 74, went to eternal rest with Our Lord and Blessed Mother on February 2, 2018. He has joined his loving parents, Juan José and Antonia Casillas and his siblings, Lucio, Luis, and Carmen. He leaves behind his wife, Paula (Pavi), his siblings Salvador, Josephine Ross, Mary Helen McMinn, Lupe Lowenberg, Maria Antonieta Yoshinobu, numerous nephews, nieces, cousins and friends who will forever miss and remember him as loving God, his generosity, loyalty to family and friends, and great musical talents.

Johnny taught Biology, Science, PE, and coached track in El Paso area schools. He played the guitar and sang beautifully many years at Open Arms Community and Holy Family Catholic Church, whose members will greatly miss his presence.

We thank our large extended family, friends, and medical staff at Sierra Medical Center and Kindred Hospital who provided compassionate care and loving support, especially during his last few weeks. In his last years, he was blessed with the love and dedication of his wife Pavi who helped him endure great pain and difficulties of his illness. He bore all with dignity, humor, Faith, prayer, and trust that God would soon embrace him in his eternal dwelling. Johnny, your life was a blessing, your memory a treasure; you are loved beyond words, and you leave a great void in our hearts, but we know you are at peace now enjoying eternal life.
