Jose Concepcion Peña 82, passed away on October 23, 2022. He was born on January 5, 1940 in Camargo, Mexico. He grew up in Juarez, Chihuahua, and moved to El Paso, TX in 1959 where he resided for the majority of his life. In 1969, he bought his first and only house on N. Collingsworth and was able to pay it off within 7 years. To Jose, that was a huge accomplishment and was always proud of his hard work that led to owning his home. He later built a Christian church in his house where he and his wife, Martha, pastored. Jose instilled a work ethic that shines brightly today through all of his children’s accomplishments. Those accomplishments are beyond what he thought they would be. His children were always his top priority. He made sure they had a house where they could later visit with their children. He enjoyed visiting his kids in Phoenix along with his grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He loved going to the Corner Bakery in the afternoons to drink a cup of coffee and a sweet bread. Jose never knew how to sit still. Even in his last days of life he was always moving and wanting to leave his bed. Jose was a true honest gentleman, and always treated everyone with respect, he disliked arguing, and would never turn his back on anyone. He dreamed of traveling… but never got the chance to. In his last few years, he was able to travel to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, and San Diego, California with two of his sons. He would later tell his daughter Julieta that those were his best trips ever.
Jose was preceded in death by his wife Martha Peña, his 2 sons: Julio Cesar Peña, Sergio Peña, and his daughter Olga Candelaria Poncy Peña, and his grandson Brittish Concepcion Peña. Jose is survived by his 6 children: Marco Antonio Peña, Julieta Gonzalez Peña, Jose Concepcion Peña Jr., Juan Pablo Peña, Alma Delia Price Peña, Luis Evaristo Peña. Please join us as we celebrate his life on November 5, 2022 at San Jose Funeral Homes at 10a.m
