Jeanie LaBree Palmer left her family and friends on Thursday, May 19th, 2022 at the age of 86.
She was born on August 19th, 1935 in El Paso, Texas, to Joseph Henry LaBree and Katherine Briscoe Shaifer.
Jeanie met the love of her life, Starr Allen Palmer, and they married July 12th, 1953. Starr served in the United States Army and they were able to share many memories across the country, as well as 2 tours in Germany.
Jeanie loved being a wife, a mother, a grandmother and a great grandmother. She enjoyed camping with her family, gardening, crocheting (a skill she lovingly passed down to one of her granddaughters), homemaking and cooking. Her favorite holidays were Thanksgiving and Christmas because she could show off that love of cooking for her family, as well as teaching and sharing recipes with her daughters and granddaughters.
When her children “left the nest”, Jeanie and Starr became “Chihuahua Parents” to several generations of chihuahuas.
Jeanie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Jerry Palmer and daughter Charli Pike (Mike), great granddaughter Marli Palmer, great grandson Jarold Palmer, her siblings: Mary Katherine Webb, Jodie LaBree (Frances), Nina Beth Holladay (George), Walter LaBree (Dee), Corky LaBree, and Dorothy Fry (Leonard).
She leaves behind her husband, SGM Starr Allen Palmer, her daughter, Lynda Bowman (Al “Butch”), her daughter-in-law Debbie Palmer and her sister-in-law Betty LaBree, all of Texas.
She was “Grandma” to 8 grandchildren. Katie Lou Gensler (Deryl) of Virginia, Sarah Luebbert (Chris) of Missouri, Angel Rocha, Lynn Kuykendall (Brett), Joe Palmer (Ashley), Jenisue Lewis (Anthony), Josh Bowman (Stacie), all of Texas, and step granddaughter Kerrie Petersen of Arizona.
She also leaves behind 21 great grandchildren: Deryl “Little D”, Samuel, Kara, Hanna, Cale, Tony, Aiden, Genna, Caleb, James, Brianah, Nathan, Courtney, Lee (Brooke), Ashley, Caden, Reese, Riley, Eli, Noah, and Sydnee, and one great-great grandson, JB.
The family wishes to extend a special thanks to Jessie and Jose Fernandez, Lettie Santoya, Kenny and Patty LaBree, Mark LaBree, Kali and Jared Ontiveros, Chip LaBree, and unending nieces, nephews, family and friends. Also Hospice of El Paso and Herrera Adult Foster Care.
