Visitation for Hector Castillo Romero, will take place at San Jose Funeral Home East, on 10950 Pellicano Dr. on Tuesday August 1, 2017 from 5:00 P.M. to 9:00 P.M. With a Rosary at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass at St Raphael Catholic Church on Wednesday August 2, 2017 at 10:0 A.M. Memorial Service at Ft Bliss National Cemetery to follow. Cremation at a later date.
Hector C. Romero passed away Thursday, July 27, 2017 peacefully at home. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years Alicia A. Romero, their children Hector G. Romero, Sandra A. Burke and husband Paul Burke, Georgina R. Spencer and husband Jerry Spencer. He was a loving father and an adoring grandpa and was loved dearly by his three granddaughters Lauren A. Burke, Sophia G. Spencer, and Vivien E. Spencer. He was known to his brothers and sisters as “Carnal” to his nieces and nephews as “Uncle Chito” or “Tio.” He attended St. Ignatius School and Cathedral High School. He was a Veteran of the Army and served at Fort Riley Kansas. For 39 years he worked at the refinery that was first known as Texaco and what is known today as Western Refinery.
He is preceded in death by his mother Maria C. Romero, father Arturo Romero, in-laws Ricardo Adauto Sr. and Evangelina Adauto, brothers Pedro, Isaac, Jesus, and Santiago Romero, brother-in-laws Ricardo Adauto Jr. and Armando Adauto. Also survived by sisters Elena Ibarra, Celia Goytia, and Josefina Romano, brother-in-laws Javier Adauto and wife Rosa and Gilbert Adauto, sisters-in-laws Armida Adauto McDonald and Ana Maria Adauto Ortega. Visitation Tuesday, August 1, 2017 from 5:00-9:00pm with the rosary at 7:00pm. Funeral Mass will be on Wednesday, August 2, 2017 at 10:00am at St. Raphael Catholic Church. Memorial service at Fort Bliss National Cemetery at 11:30 with Military Honors.
