FRANCISCO R. GIL

1930-2022

Francisco R. Gil of El Paso, Texas went to be with our Lord on Saturday, July 30, 2022.

Franciso was born in Mesilla, New Mexico in November 1930 to Angelita Rubio and Juan Gil. Francisco met and married Angelina Mendez in 1949 and were married for 68 years. Together they had four children – Frankie (Joseph) Guarracino, Joseph (Pauline) Gil, Albert (Angelica) Gil and Elizabeth (George) Duran. Grandfather to 12 grandchildren,14 great grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his spouse Angelina, their daughter Frankie, 2 grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild. He is survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews. Francisco was a 20-year Air Force Veteran and served in the Korean and Vietnam wars. He was a longtime Eucharist Minister and parishioner of St. Raphael Catholic Church. Known to many for his laughter, smile, charm, quick wit and guitar playing.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 from 9:00am – 12:00pm at San Jose Funeral Home East in Chapel A. Rosary will be held at 10:30am. A mass in Francisco’s honor will be held at 12:30pm at St. Raphael Catholic Church with burial to follow at Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.

Francisco’s love for his family will continue to inspire all who knew him. He will live forever in our hearts and memories.
