Our Father Forever loved, He gave so much asked so little.
Bernd H. Figueroa was born 1945 in Karlsruhe, Germany. He came to the United States at the age of 9 only knowing a few words of English. He enlisted in the United States Air Force after his high school graduation. He served during Vietnam in Istanbul, Turkey. He left the military to chase the love of his life our mother Sheryl L. Figueroa. He then spent a few years working as a manager at K-Mart, which inspired him to find a better career path to provide for his family. He served with the Texas Department of Public Safety for 27 years and retired as a Driver License Sergeant. Bernd had an amazing reputation among family and friends for being gentle, kind, and good hearted. He was a man that didn’t know the word “No”. He prided himself in offering his wisdom and helping hands. His motto in life was “If its worth doing, its worth doing right”. Many respected his determination and will. Bernd was not only an extraordinary Father to his children; he also was a role model to many who adored him. The Lord called him home on February 20th 2021. He is survived by his son Brian C. Figueroa and his daughter Michelle M. Roque. His grandson Jayden M. Roque aka “his chocolate chip” and his granddaughter Milena M. Roque aka “his sweetheart / angel”. His brothers Jerry Figueroa, Ron Figueroa, and Ray Figueroa. Services for him will be at San Jose Funeral Home located at 10950 Pellicano Dr El Paso, TX 79935 on March 3rd 2021 starting at10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. The Catholic Scripture Service will commence at 10:30 a.m. Interment will be at Fort Bliss National Cemetery with Military Honors at 2:00 p.m.
