Barbara “Tippy” Bailey Shoppach (84) left this earth to dance with the angels on August 13,2022 surrounded by her loved ones. Tippy was born in San Antonio, Texas to Fisher Bailey and Eleanor Evins Bailey.
Tippy wore many hats throughout her lifetime. The daughter, sister, mother, aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother, wife and friend. Besides her many hats she wore she answered to many names including, Barbara, Tippy, Mom, Gramzy, Nana, Gici, Hun and Duchess Delilah Devine.
Tippy was creative and very artistically talented. She shared numerous flower arrangements, paintings, wreaths and many other beautiful handmade creations with family and friends.
Tippy was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served the Lord in many ways. She was happiest in her kitchen cooking and baking all sorts of delicious food to share with others. Including countless of pecan pies from her pecan tree in her backyard. Her backyard was a beautiful haven where she loved to entertain. Many gatherings were held there including birthday parties, Easter Egg hunts, fashion shows, and weddings. She worked hard in her yard and knew the names of all the flower and plants.
Tippy was a member of the Crafty Ladies and Six Guns and Shady Ladies and made her own beautiful costumes and hats. She loved acting with this group and meeting people. Tippy was beautiful both on the outside and the inside. She never met a stranger and made lifelong friends at the grocery store, beauty salon, school activities and yes even the bathroom.
She was a wonderful caregiver. Her loving hands could soothe away any pain. Many a grandchild wanted to go to “Gramzys” House to feel better.
Tippy is proceeded in death by her son Chris Gallegos, and both sisters Betty Anne Burns and Bonnie Lou Stevens. She is survived by her husband of 49years Bob Shoppach and her children Debbie Gallegos of Sacramento California, Dianna (Jim) Brundage of El Paso, Texas, Denise Jacobs of Puyallup,WA, Stepchildren, April (Rick) Simpson and Chris Shoppach. Tippy leaves behind 15 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren. She has touched many lives in very special ways and will be greatly missed.
In lieu of flowers a donation to Kindred at Home Foundation Hospice of El Paso would be greatly appreciated.
A celebration of live will take place at San Jose Funeral Home on Pellicano, on Saturday, November 5,2022 from 9:30 am to 12pm with a rosary at 11am.
