On Monday, October 17, 2022, Andres Roberto Martinez, loving husband and father of three children, passed away at the age of 72.

Andres also known as “El Dyna”, “Andy” and “El Gordo” was born on October 6, 1950 in El Paso, Texas to Andres Martinez and Isabel Torres. Andy was a lifelong resident of El Paso, who grew up in the Segundo Barrio and attended Bowie High School. At Bowie, Andy met and married the love of his life, his soulmate of 54 years, Sukie Martinez.

Andy held jobs in the following industries: carpentry, machinery, pest control, and maintenance. For the past 30 years, Andy worked his way up to Head Custodian for the El Paso Independent School District and worked at Zavala Elementary, Hawkins Elementary, Cordova Middle and Armendariz Middle School. During his tenure at the school district, Andy developed and maintained long-lasting relationships with administrators, staff, families, and students.

Andy loved sports, and liked to watch boxing and football, and was a Baltimore Ravens fan. He also enjoyed drawing, painting, and liked telling jokes. A music lover at heart, who enjoyed those oldies but goodies and danced the night away! Andy was known for his infectious smile, giving heart, and positive personality. He always lit up a room with his quick wit and laughter.

Andres is preceded in death by his father, Andres, and his mother, Isabel. He is survived by his wife Sukie, his three daughters, Patricia, Angélica, and Jennifer, his brother, Jose, his sister, Rosa Linda, eleven grandchildren, and eight great-grandchildren.
