Anastacia Cortez, 84, went home with the Lord on Monday, June 22. Chita, as she was known, was an incredible mother to not only her five children, ten grandchildren, and 21 great-grandchildren but to all who were privileged to have known her. She dedicated her life to her children. She was beautiful and had a sense of humor that only her children would understand. She was the ultimate gift-giver, mentor, confidant, and an awesome cook, specializing in Mexican cuisine. Our favorites are Chicken Mole, Enchiladas, Buñuelos, Spanish rice that none of us have been able to master, and all the traditional Mexican dishes. She is the kind of person that you meet once in a lifetime. Anita is survived by her sons Robert Cortez, Guadalupe Cortez Ricardo Cortez, Lorenzo Velasquez, and the baby, Jose Luis Cortez, and one daughter in law, Diana Velasquez, and many other loved ones who are living in eternal glory. We will love and miss you all the days of our lives. Until we meet again.
