Joaquin Rivera

Joaquin (Jack) Rivera, 87, passed away peacefully on October 20th 2025. He was born in Fabens, Texas on July 11, 1938, to Catarino, Jr. and Antonia (Chavez) Rivera. He proudly served in the United States Marine Corps before meeting the love of his life, Maria Guadalupe Carbajal. They were soon married on August 12th of 1962. He provided for them as a truck driver for Fabens Oil delivering fuel to the various farms along the lower valley border, eventually driving for Texas Pacific Railroad and Utility Trailer. Later he started his own general contracting company, Associates Construction. As a hardworking and devoted husband and father, together he and Lupe bought their lifelong residence and raised their 3 children, Joseph David (Lutgarda), Victor Orlando (Sandra), and Christina Irene Knight (Jeffrey). Joaquin was preceded in death by his wife Lupe, sister and brother-in-law Ernestina and Alejandro Baca, and sister Ramona Rivera. He is survived by his 3 children and 14 grandchildren. He will always be loved and remembered by all who knew him.

Visitation will be Monday, November 03, 2025 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. with a rosary at 7:00 p.m. at San Jose Funeral Home-East, 1095 Pellicano Dr., El Paso , Texas 79935

Church mass Tuesday, November 04, 2025 at 11:30 a.m. at Jesus & Mary Catholic Church at 1401 W. Yandell St El Paso Tx 79902

Interment will follow to Ft. Bliss National Cemetery.at 1:00 p.m.
