Our beautiful and beloved mother, Celia Hilda Venegas Moreno, age 90, passed away on Monday, December 25, 2023, in El Paso, Texas.

She was born on August 26, 1933, in Ciudad Juarez, Chihuahua to Maria Delgado Hernandez and Martin Venegas.

She is preceded in death by her parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, her husband Alfredo, her sister, Carmen Venegas Hernandez, and her brother, Alfonso Hernandez Delgado.

She is survived by her brother, Jose Uriel Perez (Yolanda); her children: Altagracia, Alfredo (Lisa), Arturo (Patricia) Arcelia; grandchildren: Deja, Joseph, Jessica, Adam; great grandson: Jayden.

Our mother was a very caring woman and would always offer anyone who came to her doorstep or to visit, something to eat and drink. She favored spending time with her children, loved visiting friends and relatives in Juarez and going to family gatherings. She was a great dancer and taught us how to dance.

Mom was outspoken, very proud of her Mexican heritage and a great defender of our language and culture. She was and remained our very first teacher. She became an American citizen in 1995 and got her GED at the Valle Verde Community College of El Paso. Mom loved to travel and enjoyed reminiscing about her trips to Aguascalientes, Mexico City, Cancun, Malaga, Madrid, San Sebastian, Spain and Paris, France.

Our mother Celia is yet another example of the Eternal Madrecita here on earth giving and sacrificing all, for the happiness and wellbeing of her children and others. She will forever be loved and missed.
